Tim Lawrence on the myth that "Everything happens for a reason"

This article is so completely, utterly powerful for survivors. I can't commend author and consultant Tim Lawrence enough for publishing this meaningful piece.... Breaking the myth that "everything happens for a reason." There isn't a reason or deeper meaning behind trauma. I, like many trauma survivors, have searched and searched for the meaning. Why me? Am I supposed to do something with this, turn my trauma into power to help others? Why did it have to happen?

As Lawrence states, "Some things in life cannot be fixed. They can only be carried."

I won't even begin to pull excerpts from this piece, because it needs to be read in its entirety. Tim Lawrence is a powerful voice for survivors, "shining light on dark places." Check him out.
